Spot Prawn

The finest of marine shrimps, its bright red colour earns it the name “Peony Shrimp”. The head is raised with white spots and the shrimp body is pink and transparent. The botan shrimp comes from the cold waters around Hokkaido and Russia. Because of its slower growth rate and firmer and sweeter meat, it is a favorite shrimp species in high-priced Japanese restaurants and is often used as a high-end ingredient in sashimi and sushi.
